Stained Glass Cat Crochet Pattern

Materials: -Small amount of 6 different colors in worsted weight yarn
             -Approximately 75  yards of worsted weight base color
             -Small amount of black worsted weight yarn for embroidered whiskers
                     -Two safety eyes (medium)
                     -Small piece of light pink felt
         -Fiberfill or any type of stuffing.
             -Size F (3.75) hook
             - Darning needle

Size: Size doesn’t matter so much for this project as it does not have to fit a certain body type.

Notes: -Gauge doesn’t matter for this project, as it doesn’t have to be a certain size
     -Always join to first st of last row, unless told otherwise
     -Always chain 1 after joining round, unless stated otherwise
     -You don’t need to weave in all the ends, you can use them as supplementary fiber fill as long as you tie the ends to make sure they don’t unravel
     -It takes 6 different colors to make a cat exactly like this one, but you can substitute for only two colors. Follow the color chart below to substitute for different colors

Abbreviations: Sc: Single crochet
              Dc: Double crochet
              Ch: Chain
              Hdc: Half double crochet
              Hbl: Half bobble ( chain 3,* wrap yarn over hook, pull loop up through stitch, pull yarn through 2 loops on hook*, repeat 2 more times, when you have 4 loops on hook pull yarn through all 4 loops)
               Bl: Bobble (*wrap yarn over hook, pull loop up through stitch, pull yarn through 2 stitches on hook* repeat 3 more times, when you have 5 stitches on hook pull yarn through all 5 loops)
Pattern

Body:

With color A create magic loop and sc 4 in loop

Round 1: *2 sc in every sc around* repeat from * around

Round 2: *sc, 2 sc in next sc* repeat from * around

Round 3: * 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc* repeat from * around

Round 4: *3 sc, 2 sc in next sc* repeat from * around

Round 5: *4 sc, 2 sc in next sc* repeat from * around

Round 6: * 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc* repeat from * around

Round 7: *6 sc, 2 sc in next sc* repeat from * around

Round 8: *7 sc, 2 sc in next sc* repeat from * around

Round 9: *8 sc, 2 sc in next sc* repeat from * around, fasten off and join color B

Round 10: Hbl in same st as join, ch 1,  skip next sc, *bl, ch 1, skip next sc* repeat from * around, join to top of first bobble, fasten off color B and join color C

Round 21: *sc in same st as join, sc in skipped sc on round 20, *sc in next st, sc in skipped sc on round 20* repeat from * around, join to first sc made, continue to work in color A

Rounds 22-25: Sc in every st around, join to first sc made

Round 26: *10 sc, sc2tog* repeat from * around, join to first sc made

Rounds 27-30: sc in every st around, join to first sc made. On round 30 DO NOT fasten off

Place safety eyes in row 27. One eye should be placed 23 stitches in from last st joined, and the other eye should be places 27 stitches in from last st joined.

Sew on whiskers 3 stitches down from each safety eyes and 1 stitch in from each safety eyes. Then sew three different lines 3 stitches away in rounds 22, 24 and 26 on each side.

Cut a small triangle from pink felt and glue to face between whiskers like seen in the picture

Ears:

Round 1: Working from live yarn make 5 sc, count 5 sts out from first sc made backwards and make a sc to other side a work, 4 sc, join to first sc made.

Rounds 2-3: sc in every stitch around, join to first sc made

Round 4: Sc2tog around, join to first s2tog made. Fasten off. Sew remaining 5 sts together and weave in end.

Ear 2:

With the back side of the cat facing you, count out 7 stitches, join color A yarn.

Round 1: 5 sc, count 5 sts out from first sc made backwards and make a sc to other side a work, 4 sc, join to first sc made.

Rounds 2-3: sc in every stitch around, join to first sc made

Round 4: Sc2tog around, join to first s2tog made. Fasten off. Sew remaining 5 sts together and weave in end.

Stuff cat (don’t forget to stuff the ears slightly) firmly and shape with fiberfill or stuffing of choice, and sew top of head closed

Tail:

With color A make magic loop and sc 4 sts

Round 1: 2 sc in each sc around, join to first sc made

Round 2: *sc 1, 2 sc in next sc* repeat from * around join to first sc made

Rounds 3-24: sc in every st around, join to first sc made

Rounds 24-34: 3 hdc, 6 sc, 3 hdc, join to first hdc made

Leave a long end to sew tail to back of body.

Stuff tail very lightly, then use the darning needle sew the tail to the bottom of the cat. Find the approximate middle of the cat and sew the tail from the bottom and 2 bobble rounds up, as seen in the picture.

You can either glue or sew tail to body accordingly. When sewing or gluing tail make sure to keep the tail only on the first bobble round made.

Weave in all ends

Wanderlust Cowl Knitting Pattern

Materials: - Approximately 225 yards of Chroma worsted yarn in Sugar Cookie or any worsted weight yarn to get gauge
        - 16” size 7 (4.5mm) circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge
        - Stitch marker
        - Darning needle to weave in ends


Size: One size with a 25” circumference. Height is easily adaptable.

Notes: -I used a long tail cast on, but with this pattern any cast on would be fine.
    -To adapt height, just add more rows of any section.
    - This pattern doesn’t need to be blocked, but a light blocking could provide more uniform stitches

Abbreviations: - K: Knit stitch
           - P: Purl stitch
           - PM: Place marker
           - St: Stitch
           - YO: Yarn over
           - Sl1: Slip one stitch
           - PSSO: Pass slipped stitch over

Gauge: 16 stitches and 30 rows= 4 inches in stitch pattern: Row 1: K 1, P 1. Row 2: P. Repeat until you can take gauge accurately.

Pattern

Cast on 138 sts. Join being careful not to twist the sts.

Round 1: PM *K 1, P 1* repeat to last st

Round 2: P to last st

Repeat rounds 1-2 until you have 1.5 inches. End with round 1.

Rounds 3-5: K to last st

Round 6: *YO, Sl1, K 1, PSSO* repeat to last st

Repeat rounds 3-6 3 times, then K 3 more rows

Rounds 7-8: *K 1, P 1* repeat to last st

Rounds 9-10: P 1, K 1* repeat to last st

Repeat rounds 7-10 until you have approximately 2 inches. End on an even row (8 or 10)

Repeat rounds 3-6 3 times, and K 3 more rounds

Repeat rounds 1-2 until you have 1.5 inches. End with round 1.

Weave in all ends.
